Stopped in on a whim with my husband and son and we're so glad we did. Food was good and portions large especially for the price. Friendly service and a cute county atmosphere. We'll definitely be back.

First time last time. Its the rubber chicken diner joint. The waitstaff was Good - friendly, prompt, run the specials... but The breakfast i had was bad and slooow coming out for not busy weekday morning. chicken & swiss omelet had odd greasy sausage taste & the overcooked gristley chicken breast inside sucked. Biscuits were equally bad - like microwaved pucks hard on top and bottom. Grits cool and lumpy like they sat under the lamp waiting for the eggs to catch up.

Arrived at 8:30 Sunday greeted with a smile. I was seated quickly. My waitress was attentive and very friendly. I ordered something not on the menu. Corned beef hash with several items cooked inside. One item seemed to be missing (not sure) but the end result was delicious. My coffee was always full and I was always asked if I needed anything. Great warm country feel. Love it. See for yourself, Give em a try.

Went there for breakfast and it was the worst experience ever. Food was cold service was horrible and to make it worst they brought me the wrong food twice

We noticed roaches around the restaurant so we were given free food. Even free food can't bring back your appetite after seeing that! Scratched off the list forever

Husband and I like stopping by here on occasion, the food is hit or miss and is never consistent that's why we don't frequent this restaurant as often as we would like to. I do enjoy the fried pickles here though.

House omelet was tasty...pancakes were the fluffiest! Our server Leah was wonderful. All in all a good place for a country breakfast. Except for the pancakes, the portions were a little skimpy for the price. The hubby had the Country Man breakfast plate and the portion was more similar to a "Country Kid" platter. I would give it another shot for lunch or dinner but for a more hearty breakfast I'd try somewhere different.

This past weekend I had family in town and a big group of us wanted to get breakfast on Sunday morning (which also happened to be Father's Day). My parents and aunt and uncle had eaten at Country Cabin so this is where we met. We got there a little after 9am. My cousin had called ahead (there were 14 of us) but they don't take reservations. When we walked in they said they had just had 2 parties of 10 walk in and there would be a wait. There is really no place to wait inside so we had to wait in the parking lot. It was only about 10 minutes before they had a table for us, which was nice. Our waitress came over right away and got drinks and coffee out fast. We all decided what we wanted to order relatively quickly (for 14 people at least). I went with the bacon, spinach, and feta omelette with a biscuit. The menu is a bit confusing as it says the omelettes come with "toast, biscuit, or grits." Apparently it's actually a choice of toast or biscuit AND grits. Many of us don't eat grits so there was some confusion when the food came out over that. Anyhoo, the food came out after a decent amount of time but because it all came out randomly it was sort of confusing. A few different waitresses brought it out and a lot of us ordered similar meals but our poor waitress dealt with it well. My omelette was fine, a bit greasy/runny for me (not sure if you can see it in the picture but there was watery whatever running all over the plate by the time it got to me). It was very large (that plus a biscuit was way more food than I can handle) and filling. I was surprised that they had people waiting while tables were empty (I guess they were under staffed?) on a Sunday that was also Father's Day. The visit was fine, nothing super special but not bad either.

I come here at least twice a month and kept forgetting to write a review, so here it is... if you are looking for a place to get a great home cooked style meal and not break the bank THIS IS THE PLACE! The food is always good and the service is excellent even when they are busy.

Not bad. Ordered a grilled ham n cheese on rye my friend got a chicken sandwich. Both were good. Only issue is we waited 35 minutes for 2 sandwiches and there were only 5 other tables there. Our waitress got our teas then disappeared. After waiting 35 min ( theres a clock on the wall ) I flagged down another waitress, she was nice and said she would check on our food, a minute later she came out with it. Food was hot not reheated so it didnt sit long. Our waitress came by and set our check down and walked away. I tipped the one that actually found our food. Might be back, nothing special but food was good.

Big miss for me. Service was slow on my last visit and out of 3 of us, we couldn't find anything worth taking a second bite little less ordering again.

Great home cooking! Fantastic food and service. I come for breakfast often, love the omelets and pancakes, they don't add anything to the eggs or pancakes always tastes great for a decent price.

Without being sure if Country Cabin is a chain establishment or purely local, I decided to give this place a whirl since this location just popped up out of nowhere a few weeks ago. While I'm far from being a southerner (no, I still haven't tried grits...), I've become a sucker for anything on a plate beginning with the words "chicken fried." I arrived mid Sunday morning and the place was hopping, so to me that was a good indication that the place was legit. Atmosphere: Hmmmm...not sure how to word this. They just opened, yet judging from the interior it looks like they've been here for decades. From the decor to the furnishings, I'm not sure what restaurant was here prior, but I highly doubt much was changed or upgraded with the transition. And while the front part of the dining room was pretty well lit (mainly from the windows), the back part by the kitchen where i was sitting was annoyingly dark. Eats: I opted for the Chicken Fried Chicken Breakfast with 2 eggs, hash browns, and toast. Yup. Chicken fried chicken...not steak, and I had a hard time deciding between the two, believe me. Turns out I should have gotten both, because the portion sizes are incredibly small for a "country" style breakfast. The hashbrowns were served on the side on this tiny plate and the size of the chicken itself just made me shake my head in disbelief. The white gravy over the chicken was thin, runny, and tasteless. I could have gotten better gravy out of a packet. So disappointing. Service: Toni (I think that's her name?) was a great server with a winning personality, but the kitchen needs to kick it up a notch. It shouldn't have taken close to 30 minutes to cook me up an appetizer sized meal. Moral: I should have gone to Cracker Barrel. No wait....I should have taken fellow Yeep Mark B.'s advice and joined him at Kickback's. At least I know at either place I wouldn't have left hungry, as I did after my Country Cabin breakfast experience. All in all this place has got some work to do, recipes to revamp, and it will be quite some time before I even think about giving this place another try.

Been here once. Don't plan on going back. Slow service. Mediocre good. Had hoped for good home cookin. Biscuits were worse than mine.

A great friendly spot with southern hospitality and comfort food at it pure definition. I've eaten here at least 4 times and not once have I had bad service or considered this place "nasty" as another yelper (if you can call them that) called this place. Great prices, Delicious Food and Friendly Service. What more do you want?! Looking at the negative reviewers other reviews I noticed that AndyK & DinesOut E. Have no positive feedback for anyplace which makes me believe that they are just negative people. And if I trusted people like that with where I spend my money, I'd never find out how great places are on my own.

I've eaten breakfast here twice in the past week. The service is great, the food is delicious, and the prices are amazing. Not many options exist for a good breakfast in this area, and this place is phenomenal. And they serve breakfast all day.

I live in Orange Park. When I start heading south on Blanding Boulevard looking for something to eat if I make it as far as country cabin then I always go here. The food is good, not fancy or pretentious. They have everything, a very wide variety. If somebody wants seafood and a kid wants chicken fingers and somebody else wants fish what somebody else wants meat loaf, you can get all of that there. There are daily specials and dinners come with three sides. Side selection is very large maybe 20 choices or so. I love the fried squash it's like grandma dipped it in some flour and fried it up for me. Not I really thick breading just a light dusting of flour. I've been here for breakfast and dinner. The ham steak breakfast is really good . You can get breakfast anytime, sausage gravy isn't available later in the day. I have eaten the patty melt, sausage and peppers all good. The peanut butter pie is pretty good too. Like I said , if you are driving around Blanding Boulevard and you're not sure what you want to eat go there because they have a really wide menu and everything I have eaten there's been really good. Edit: Here is some constructive feedback though. The other night my son and I went to country cabin I ordered the most expensive meal on the menu and my son ordered the second most expensive meal those were the 10oz steak and shrimp and then the seafood platter. The steak obviously came out of the freezer and the shrimp were not exceptional in any way. My son's seafood platter was bad on every level with the exception of the stuffed crab which was alright. I was disgusted by my steak and sent it back for a small amount being deducted from my bill. I wouldn't expect someone to specialize in seafood and steaks and country cooking all the same time but if you have it on your menu and you execute it poorly and it is the most expensive thing you have on your menu you may want to consider dropping it from your menu entirely.

We pass this establishment all the time and I have wanted to try it. My husband had been there twice already and did nothing but brag. We arrived on a Sunday morning about 8:30 and were immediately seated even though they were pretty busy. Unfortunately that's the only thing that happened at a fast pace. We didn't see our waitress for about 10 minutes for our drink orders. We ordered our food and 20 minutes later got our food. I ordered pancakes, scrambled eggs (which I always ask to be super scrambled) and bacon. My husband ordered corn beef and hash browns, 2 eggs and toast. My eggs were so runny that I could not eat them. I pushed them to the edge of the table. My husband received runny, scrambled eggs and cold corn beef. No hash browns. The waitress was otherwise engaged and only stopped to pick up our plates. She didn't ask how our meals were or if we needed anything else. She had placed our receipt on the table when she delivered our food so we were never given the opportunity to ask for the hash browns or replacement eggs. So we went to pay and were FINALLY asked how our breakfast was by the cashier. After telling her about our experience, we were asked if the manager could call us the next time she was in (supposedly the day after). I gladly gave my name and phone number. I was never called. We will never go back to this establishment. We learned our lesson in trying a place a little closer to home. Grumpy's is the place for breakfast.

After passing by and seeing the crowd we were intrigued and decided to stop, oh boy what a disappointment , Im thinking food served is purchased at dollar stores the coffee for starters was just not good and we asked for a second cup, thinking it wasn't a good brew but no luck, no better! Worse water down coffee I ever had. The service and they tried have to give them that, it was just lacking, we saw our waitress twice when she took our order and when she brought the food out. We had too call out to get any attention My wife had a breakfast combination consisting of hotcakes, hashbrown, eggs, grits I ordered the 5oz steak with eggs, of our entire meal the grits and rye toast passed. The grits were ok just ok! The rest mediocre at very best! Hotcakes were nasty syrup was again cheap flavored syrup I left there with a old grease flavor aftertaste in my mouth not pleasant I should have read other reviews. Funny thing as we were leaving and paying our check! We were asked how was everything? We answered ok but you most certainly need to work on your coffee, we had no answer and we left. Diner, lunch ?? Well read the other reviews what do you think! Unfortunately won't be visiting anytime soon....
